I can't believe my luck! I am home with new friends, a big soft bed, cookies and kisses on my head. I am learning not to hang my head because my forever Mom says, "lift your head, Goldens should never hang their head!" All the hands here pet me, love me, hug me, scratch my ears and rub my body.
My new sister Lucy, a big yellow lab, hangs out with me in the yard. When the weather is good, we get to go outside and roll in the grass together. We get all wet but nobody cares, we just get toweled off when we come in the house. We wear these cool collars that hook us together so we can explore and I don't wander out of sight. This is important because Lucy knows the yard perimeter and with an acre and lots of trees I could wander into the blackberry brambles and with this long coat, that could get messy!
I also have five little sisters that give me kisses and race me to the house to get cookies after we go outside to do our business. My five little sisters are Mia, Luna, Cira, Daisy and Bailey, Italian Greyhounds. We used to have Daphne, as my new family does Italian Greyhound Rescue, but she went to her new forever home and they really love her.
There is one new fun thing that I do everyday, my new Mom tells me to lay down so that she can step on me. I lay all the way down and hold real still and she rubs my whole body with her foot. It's hard to hold still and not wag my tail because it feels so good. Since my adoption I have only done one naughty thing but it was hard to tell if it was bad because nobody yelled at me or smacked me! My family was having the carpets cleaned so Lucy and I had to stay in the big garage with the cats, Ginger and Nutmeg. I showed Lucy, because she hadn't noticed them before, where the fish and gravy food packets were and how to rip them open. We had a blast and there was enough for everyone! Those cats really love me now!
Well, that's all for now. I have a pretty tight schedule here, eat, sleep, go outside to play, get cookies, sleep some more and get more cookies. I have to get brushed and get my face cleaned. I hear dinner going in the bowls so I must go now. Good luck to everyone waiting for adoption. There is a place for all of us with love and happiness.
