Memorial: Dakota (#1503)

Dakota Crossed the Rainbow Bridge on November 5, 2007

Dakota came to Golden Bond from the Clackamas County Shelter, bringing with him a slew of problems, both medical and behavioral. The medical problems were easily solved with neutering and removal of a large benign tumor. His background was unknown, except that it was obvious that he had been neglected and untrained. Mike and Jane adopted him in January 2007.

There was an initial period of adjustment with Samson, the resident 13 month old Lab. And he was almost returned to Golden Bond when it was reported "Dakota has apparently never met cats before. He had Dixie in his mouth and carried her down the hallway! She is fine but not too keen on coming out from under the bed now." Fortunately, Dakota and Dixie reached a truce within a week and Dakota became a member of the family.

Thank you, Mike and Jane. Dakota did come to you with baggage which you helped him to unpack and replaced with caring and love for the last year of his short life.
