My pictures make me look rather sad, which pretty much describes me when I was found on the roadway in Bend, wearing a nice shearling coat but no tags or license. I was skin and bones, matted and full of sores. It was cold and dangerous out there and I don't know why my owner wanted to throw me away. It was so lucky that the Humane Society people found me and called Golden Bond! Molly Bean at the Humane Society kept me in her office for several days until Golden Bond could come get me, so my new parents gave me her name since she cared for me so well.
I am not sad any longer, that's for sure! I am very happy living with Helen (formerly Girlfriend) and her dad and mom, Ray and Mary. Mom has been working on my sores and Dr. Libby Hawkins took good care of my ears and lab tests until I was adopted. I have itchy ears, but Mom and Dad are taking care of the medicine and cleaning, even though I definitely told them I don't like that part of my life. Now that I have found my Forever Home, I will go to Helen's vet, Rob Flecker, and have a Senior Wellness Exam, though a girl is only as old as she feels. I might be 12 or 13, maybe even 14 (I think they are lying) but since coming to live with Helen, I feel like a pup again.
My coat is becoming beautiful and I have learned excellent begging skills in the kitchen. I am eating very good food prescribed by the vet, along with anything I can grab on the side while lurking alongside Helen during meal preparations.
I am looking forward to a fine future in my neighborhood, where there are dozens of dogs and nice people who pet me and admire my beauty. I can't take long walks and hikes like Helen does, but my folks take me around the block several times a day to see my friends and check my p-mail. I do love my new life and am so grateful to the fine volunteers at Golden Bond who found me a great home where Goldens seem to be ruling the roost. I am much better looking than my pictures, but I was playing with my pal Jake and not in any mood for posing.
Love, Molly
