Success Story: Sausha (#1460)

Adopted October 4th, 2006

Sausha

MacDuff (Sausha) has been nothing short of wonderful. With 3 cats in house and 3 grandkids visiting today for the first time, the big guy has been a perfect fit. Showing the best traits for the breed, MacDuff has been as golden mellow as he is golden yellow.

The cats are becoming accustomed to him and while there have been no hugs and kisses, they have taken to walking close with no more than wariness and even an occasional nose-nose check-him-out. The one thing that surprised me was that he howled in accompaniment to sirens. My previous 3 goldens didn't do that and he hasn't howled as much lately.

He continues to lose weight, down from the original 128 pounds (!) following the great program that his foster family, Kathy and Dale, started for him. He was 108 three weeks ago and due for another weigh-in this week, where we're hoping for a drop to less than 105. With the weight loss, MacDuff exhibits more stamina and energy all the time. He quickly has become a contributing member of our family, giving us great joy, doing all the loving and intelligent things that goldens are known for.
