Memorial: Cassie (#1444)

Cassie Crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 2008

Cassie
Cassie had a great life after Golden Bond rescued her. She had the opportunity to be a classroom dog and have children's secrets whispered into her golden ears. She had her name and photo in the local newspaper as a "working dog". She had the opportunity to visit at the assisted living in Woodland and bring joy to the older people there. She made the trip to Missouri, traveling thousands of miles on a quilt in the back of a Lincoln to see "her" grandkids again and meet a very aloof cat at their new house. She woofed faithfully at whatever Lucy barked at, real or imagined. She was groomed to extreme beauty with strawberry bows on her ears. She viewed each visitor as her personal project, resting her head on their knee and staring at them with gentle brown eyes until they responded appropriately by petting her. She watched with some amazement as the fur on her tail stood out sideways in the Missouri breeze. She often fell asleep while being stroked gently. She was never too tired to follow me around the house at any hour. She brought God's love and joy to our home. Cassie, you were all that a dog should be. I praise God for your life, Cassie, and the "second chance at happiness" that Golden Bond provided for you!

Sherry and Danny

Adopted August 25, 2006

Cassie

Does this picture look vaguely familiar? Does it seem like the family of Sherry and Dan is growing? Well you are absolutely correct! Just one month ago Sherry and Dan adopted Lucy and when they brought Lucy back for a visit to her foster family that missed he so, they met Cassie (#1444) And guess what, they fell in love all over again.

So today Sherry, Dan and Lucy came to adopt Cassie. Boy was that little girl, Cassie, happy to see them back and more than happy to go home with her new family in Woodland, WA. Now since there are two dogs in the family Lucy will have to share classroom visits with Cassie as it wouldn't be fair not to share. Sherry teaches school and these two lucky girls are going to be the proud classroom dogs. Lucky kids if you ask me and even luckier doggies.

These two girls were some of the sweetest girls that this foster family had in a long time, so they will be missed terribly but we couldn't be happier for this growing family. Sherry has been forbidden by her husband, Dan, to ever visit us again when we have a foster dog. However, we will keep in contact by email. This is one happy family and this foster family couldn't be happier for all of them.
