Success Story: Orvis (#1381)

Adopted April 8, 2006

Orvis

I am one happy boy! I was adopted by my new mom a couple of months ago and live in Eugene now. I have a new canine sister and pal, Piper, who enjoys playing with me. I love to play-fight, and come at her growling with my tail wagging frantically and pretty soon we're having a great time.

We don't bark much when strangers walk by our house, but Piper and I have great fun telling the neighborhood when mom comes home. We think people a couple of blocks away can probably hear our chorus of barking and howling from inside our house!

My new family also has 4 cats! Three of them are in their late teens, and nice, but no fun at all. The other one though is only 6 (two years younger than me!) and I spend a lot of time waiting for her to run. Usually she doesn't, but I have got to be alert, just in case. My mom says she likes to tease me.

I've dropped about 10 pounds since I arrived here Spring Break, and this nice man who tried to hear my heartbeat over my tail thumping says I should lose 10 more. Sigh. But he gave me a treat anyway.

Sometimes my mom takes me to her school on weekends and I get to chase a tennis ball down the long halls. That's really fun and I can skid pretty far there too.

Just wanted you all to know that life is wonderful here. My mom says I'm a real good boy, and she's right!
