Jasper (#1341) has settled in like the true gentleman he is.
He likes nosing around the back yard on his own for smells of neighbor cats and squirrels that travel the fence top. Finding a long-hidden dog toy or two as a bonus. He enjoys neighborhood walks on an expandable leash, which allows me to walk along and him to stop and smell the 'roses.' Neighbor Charlie, a golden lab is now a playmate.
All the neighbors on our cul de sac have met Jasper and approve of the big guy. We're looking forward to going to a dog park soon. He also loves to take long naps almost anywhere, and he doesn't mind going in the car, especially if we end up at a park to run.
He's good company, though quite independent, and responsive to most commands. We're discovering each other during these first weeks. He's such a bear of a guy his name is morphing into Jasper Bear, Mr. Bear, or Bear. Time will tell.
