One day in June, she got me all excited and said that Mike and Bev were coming to visit and I might like them. Well, when they walked in the door, it was L-O-V-E at first sight. They each had my favorite cookies in their pockets and they couldn't stop petting me and saying how pretty I was. I decided then and there that I would like to go home with them. I was so excited that I stood up for the whole trip back to Portland and looked out the window!
My life has settled into a routine which I love. Dad takes me to the dog park in the morning between 7:00 and 8:00 and then we have breakfast and he takes me again between 6:00 and 8:00 at night after my dinner. We stay for, Dad says, about a half an hour or 45 minutes. There are a lot of other dogs that I am making friends with and a lot of dogs like me that have been rescued by new parents. I don't fetch, but I do chase dogs that fetch. I like to run way out there and make a big circle and come racing back to my dad like a fighter pilot. Yesterday, I chased a swallow round and round. It would fly just out in front of me about a foot off the ground.
My new mama Bev is teaching me to catch a ball. I am not very good at it yet, but she keeps working with me. I am starting to like sitting on the bed while she puts on her makeup. She tells me that she is a body double for Sharon Stone, but I think she is pulling my leg. I like to play hide and seek. The other day I hid in the bathtub and my new parents couldn't find me. Sometimes my parents go to a movie and leave me alone in the kitchen. I am afraid they won't come back. When they do it is L-O-V-E all over again and they tell me that they love me, they pet me and scratch my back and head in just the right spot. They tell me over and over that I can stay here with them forever and ever. I like my new home. Thank you Golden Bond!
