We're delighted to announce that Homer (formerly King) (#1180) has joined Sweden, Lorn and Eric as part of our Salem family. Unlike most Golden Bond volunteer homes, ours has been a 1-dog household since first adopting in 1994. And like many rescue dogs and their owners, Homer has a checkered past. He lived with 3 families before being taken in by Golden Bond, all of whom really didn't appreciate Homer's potential.

Jon and Jessica hosted this sweet, gentle soul for his first week with Golden Bond. It quickly became clear that it wasn't Homer that had issues, it was his previous owners who weren't prepared for dog ownership as the least of their issues. One week later he moved to Salem, and the adoption was finalized on April 8th. His dads predict Homer will be valedictorian of his Canine Good Citizen class (or at worst, place second). Graduation is scheduled at the end of April. "We're lucky to have Homer," say Eric and Lorn. "We've had eleven wonderful years with Sweden. Sweden likes having an active little brother, and he is a most welcome addition to our family. We think he's as good as they get. Thank you, Golden Bond!"
