Golden Retriever Rescue
For the Love of Goldens
Adopted October 19, 2004
Hi, my name is Harley (#1076), but often I'm called "Boyfriend", "Handsome" or even "Hey Guy." I really like being called "Hey Boyfriend" and I will come running as fast as I can (which is not very fast) to be loved and petted.
You see, I'm a very old guy that someone dumped this summer in Battleground, WA. A very nice lady found me and tried very hard to find my real family. After a week, she called the caring people at Golden Bond Rescue who found me a foster home with Kay and her adopted Golden Bond girl, Maggie.
Kay took me to the vet for shots, dental work and removal of a benign tumor under my tail (of all places!). She gave me a much needed bath, nail trim and named me Harley after her husband, James Harley, who passed away last summer. During my recovery, Kay took Maggie and me up to her lake property at Lake Merwin Camper's Hideaway for wonderful weekends. Kay can only guess at my past life history because it took awhile for me to get over my depression and show my Golden personality.
I like short walks and those long car rides. I like to carry the mail and newspaper up the driveway for Kay. I have some arthritis in my spine and back legs so maybe that is why I don't wag my tail. I like being in the house and in the same room with Kay.
The reason you didn't see me on "Goldens Needing Homes" is because I found my forever family with Kay and Maggie. Kay has had lots of foster dogs and enjoys helping us find our forever families but this time her soft heart got the best of her. I think it was meant to be when she named me after her husband.
I have found my very own retirement home and I'm getting my old groove back. I have been showing my playful and frisky side with all the love and attention I receive from Kay and Maggie.
Sincerely,
Harley, Maggie and Kay
