Success Story: Cody (#337)

Adopted July 10, 2005

Cody
Woof Woof! (Hi There),

It's me Cody (#337). Whoever thought I would end up at Golden Bond Rescue again? Mike my foster dad is the "best" ever, I will miss him sooo much! I would have never made it without his care and love back in 2003 on my first time around with Golden Bond Rescue, now he has once again saved me.

Leaving my foster home was hard for everyone involved. My foster dad already has Shelby and Ranger to care for, but he loves me too. My new family felt bad for taking me away from him, but assured him they were the "Perfect Family" for me, and I was the "Perfect Golden" in their eyes.

My new parents Steve and Michelle, plus sister Mindy had the offer of a lifetime for me. They love me just the way I am. My bags are unpacked for good this time! My mom tells me a hundred times a day what a "Good Boy I am".

I've already visited Sarah my new doctor and the crew at the animal hospital. They told me I was the most handsome retriever ever! Dr. Sarah said I won the lottery this time around. What a nice thing for her to say in front of everyone. I'm being treated for an ear infection, but will be good as new soon. My mom has already set-up the appointments I need for testing, so that I can continue to take the medicine that keeps me seizure free.

I have my very own new swimming pool in the backyard. Most of the time I forget to shake off all the water and bark dust before running in thru my new doggie-door. I'll have to work on that. My new toy basket is full of toys galore. The second night home I ran down the hall at 4:30AM with one of my new toys and flung it up on my sister's bed. Guess What? Everyone got up and played with me, pretty cool huh? I was so excited!

My special drawer in the kitchen is full of lean treats. When that drawer opens and I come running, sometimes I stand there with my big brown eyes and wait for it to be opened; I'm such a Lover Boy!

Thank you Golden Bond and Foster Dad Mike for finding me my new Perfect Forever Home!!!!!

Love,
Your Cody Boy

Cody's "Available" Story

Cody
Meet Cody (#337) (Special Needs). Cody is about five years old, blonde and weighs about 60 lbs. Cody loves to play and will take his toys out of his toy box and give them to you to play with him when he wants some attention. He'll also kind of grunt and moans as if to say, "let's play!" He's such a sweetie! Cody also enjoys going on long walks, playing with other friendly dogs and he loves kids of all ages. Cody is a moderately active gentle golden and would do great in a family with young children. As a special needs dog, Cody takes medication daily because he has a history of seizures. Fortunately, the medication Cody is on is inexpensive, easy to administer (two pills a day that he eats along with his food) and it has kept him seizure free for almost 2-1/2 years! Recently Cody has developed food allergies that affect him with "hot spots" on his skin. Fortunately again, Cody is doing quite well with Pro Plan for Sensitive Skin and Stomach and he actually likes it. There is one important thing he lacks though. I don't think anyone ever told Cody that he is a Golden Retriever and that goldies love to retrieve. You can throw balls all day long. Cody doesn't mind at all, just as long as you don't expect him to go get them for you! Well, nobody's perfect. If you have an empty spot in your heart that you think Cody may be able to fill please call Golden Bond.
